The new building of the Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Debrecen unites three functions: manufacturing, research, and education. The guiding architectural motif is fusion — the façade's amorphous, bubble-like perforations flow through the interior spaces as well.
The unified interior signage system translates this narrative into visual language. The pictograms are built on a triadic editorial grid that expresses the symbiosis between producer, researcher, and educator.
The colour palette — mint turquoise (trust), white (purity), anthracite (excellence) — emerges from the building's interior design codes. The materials (glass, brushed stainless steel, 3D-printed pictograms, UV direct printing, foil-cut lettering) convey the precision of science and the purity of pharmacy.
The hierarchical, ADA-compliant system does more than guide — it builds a brand: it transforms the building's ornamentation into identity.
